What is an orthomosaic?

A single scaled image of the whole site, taken from directly above and stitched together from the scan photos. Overlay it on a drawing or compare it with last month’s.

What is volumetric data?

Stockpile and cut and fill volumes in cubic metres, measured from the scan. These are the numbers behind earthworks and material claims.

Sheet 04 · Questions

Straight answers

How much does drone progress photography cost in Cork?
Construction progress visits start at €199 for photos only, €299 for photos plus a 3D scan, and €449 for photos plus a one minute edited video, per visit. Larger jobs or jobs with more than one site are confirmed in writing before booking.
Do I need a retainer?
No. A retainer isn’t needed, and you can book a single visit whenever you need one. If you’d like regular visits, a retainer is an option: the same package at whatever cadence your programme needs, month to month.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I am fully licensed and fully insured, and proof is available on request.
What do I get from a 3D scan?
An orthomosaic, which is a scaled image of the whole site taken from directly above, and volumetric data: stockpile and cut and fill volumes in cubic metres. Each visit is flown from the same fixed points so results can be compared from one month to the next.
How often should we book a visit?
Whatever suits your programme. Monthly is common for progress reports, and you can add a visit at key milestones such as foundations, frame or handover.
Which areas do you cover?
Cork City and county, including Douglas, Ballincollig, Carrigaline, Cobh, Midleton, Kinsale, Bandon, Mallow and Fermoy. Elsewhere in Cork? Ask and it will be confirmed.
What if the weather is bad on the day?
Drones cannot fly safely in strong wind or rain, so the visit is rebooked for the next suitable day.
